Magnetic MCC charging
Most modern Olights charge with a magnetic MCC cable that snaps onto the tail or body - no open USB port to collect grit or wear out. The magnet lines up the contacts for you, so charging is one-handed and the light stays sealed and water-resistant.
Keep the contacts clean
The one thing to watch is the metal contacts. Pocket lint or grime can weaken the connection, so wipe the tail and the MCC head occasionally with a dry cloth. If charging gets flaky, dirty contacts are almost always the cause.
Battery care for long life
Lithium cells last longest kept between roughly 20% and 80% for storage, and not left fully flat for weeks. Charge before long-term storage, top up every few months, and avoid leaving the light in a hot car. Do this and the built-in battery holds its capacity for years.
Spare cables and chargers
An extra MCC cable for the car or bag is cheap insurance. See genuine Olight chargers and accessories.
